With November fast approaching, being nabbed for a DUI is a terrible situation for anyone running for political office.
This is just the case for Carmen Toft, a Planned Parenthood employee who is on the ballot for a District 10 House seat in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Toft was arrested on May 22nd for careless driving and a DUI. She reportedly hit a 7-year-old girl on a bike. However, no serious harm to the young cyclist has been reported.
Toft will be withdrawing from the race, although she cannot officially withdraw until after the June 5 primary.
