Oregon DUII defense attorney PETER CARINI
Peter Carini is the founder of PJC LAW GROUP. He was born in 1962 in New York City. Since 1994 he has practiced criminal defense law in Oregon. In 2000 he focused his practice to DUI defense. His success and professional reputation at defending DUI cases is recognized statewide and nationally.
Peter Carini is a recognized expert at DUI defense. He instructs attorneys in DUI defense at DUI conferences in and out of state. To our knowledge, Peter Carini attends more Drunk Driving conferences and related training than any other Oregon attorney. He is the only Oregon attorney who has completed the National Highway Traffic Administration’s Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Instructor course. He is also recognized throughout the country as being an expert in the National Highway Traffic Administration’s Drug Recognition Expert training. He has successfully completed the Drug Recognition Expert student course and has trained DUI attorneys across the United States on the subject.
Peter Carini is an owner and operator of the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath testing device manufactured by CMI, Inc. The Intoxilyzer 5000 is the breath testing device used in the State of Oregon. We are unaware of any other Oregon attorney who owns and operates this device. The manufacturer has gone to great lengths to keep the device out of the hands attorneys and will not sell the device to attorneys.
To effectively cross-examine the breath testing scientists used by the prosecution, Peter Carini attended the extensive training provided to state scientists to qualify as expert in breath testing. Peter Carini is the only Oregon attorney to have attended the Robert Borkenstein School held at the University of Indiana. This school is attended by the department heads of each states breath testing divisions. Mr. Carini attends at least four National DUI education courses per year to stay on the cutting edge of DUI defense education, tactics and strategies.
Peter Carini is also the Oregon State Representative for the National College for DUI Defense. He is a three time graduate of the National College for DUI Defense held each summer at the Harvard University Campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This program is the premier educational course for attorneys demanding the highest level instruction in DUI defenses, strategies and tactics.
Peter Carini spends 20 hours per week researching the latest cases, legal treatises, scientific literature, and articles on the subject of drunk driving defense allowing him to be on the cutting edge of DUI defenses at all times.
DUII defense attorney Peter Carini is also a Life member with the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, National Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bars. He is also admitted to practice in Federal Court.
Mr. Carini has performed in over 100 jury trials as lead counsel and hundreds of DMV license suspension hearings.
He has never been disciplined by any State Bar.
