Shots vs. Beer--Which gets you drunk faster?-Remember to call a cab so you can avoid a Detroit DWI arrest

You're heading out for a night on the town in Detroit with good friends but they already started drinking hours ago while you were still stuck at work.  You're under the distinct impression from the last text you received from your buddies that you are going to have some catch up drinking to do. Before you start planning out your night of drinking, remember to formulate a plan regarding how you are going to get home later so you don't end up getting a Detroit DWI arrest.  Now, the big question is how are you going to catch up to your friends?  Below is some great information regarding shots vs. beer:

12 ounces of beer is equivalent to approximately 1.5 ounces of liquor.  If you are having liquor only shots, you are likely going to get drunker faster than if you are drinking beer (drink for drink) simply because most liquor has higher alcohol content than beer.  Also, you are drinking more when you drink a beer vs. when you drink a shot and your stomach can only hold so much at one time.  Therefore, you get fuller faster when you drink beer compared to when you drink shots.  If you are drinking fluffy, fun shots, however, you may be getting drinks with lower alcohol content than beer depending on the types of shots you are drinking. Basically, it all depends on what is in the shots.  But, the big question is do you really want to try and catch up to your friends or do you just want to go and enjoy yourself and what you are drinking?

Once you are at your destination, remember the last thing you need is a Detroit DWI arrest.  Hopefully, you have decided to call a friend or a cab to come and get you once your night has ended.  However, if you do try to drive and get pulled over, call a qualified Detroit DUI attorney immediately to start working on your case!
